The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

If you have a scheduled appointment or other business at the MTF, please verify with your provider or applicable office within the MTF to ensure there are no changes in schedule. To learn how the lapse in appropriations affects your TRICARE benefit, visit www.tricare.mil/shutdown

Change in Operations - Effective Jan. 3, 2023 - Malcolm Grow Medical Clinic

Laboratory Department

Malcolm Grow Medical Clinic's Laboratory Department transitioned to an appointment system on Oct. 3, 2022. The appointment system is intended to better serve beneficiaries as we upgrade to the new electronic health record, MHS GENESIS. All beneficiaries who visit us for lab services, including drop-offs, must schedule an appointment.

Appointment scheduling will become the standard for laboratory services on Jan. 3, 2023. Walk-ins should expect longer wait times after this date.

Please contact the Laboratory Department at 240-612-1501 or visit https://andrews.tricare.mil/Health-Services/Lab-Tests-Radiology/Laboratory if you have additional questions.

Active Duty Clinic

The sick call hours for the Active Duty Clinic will change to Monday through Friday, 7-7:30 a.m. Personnel must check in by 7:30 a.m. Those in line when capacity has been reached or who arrive after 7:30 a.m. will be provided alternate care options.

Personnel experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (i.e., cough, congestion, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, body aches, fever, chills, loss of taste or smell) must have a negative COVID-19 test within seven days of symptom onset. If not, patients may be deferred to the COVID-19 testing site.

Please note - sick call is not for medication refills, administrative paperwork, profiles, referrals, or lab requests.

Know Before You Visit!

As a network of care with 12 MTFs and 11 DTFs serving over 270K enrollees, active duty service members, and beneficiaries, entering the National Capital Region Network may find it challenging to effectively manage their health care. Therefore, the NCR Market Patient Guidebook was created to optimize the beneficiary experience. You can view the patient guidebook here.
