Specializations
Our medics at the En Route Patient Staging Facility provide the reintegration of Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen giving them care for critically injured patients who require stabilization, advanced trauma resuscitation, and surgical intervention prior to transport to a definitive care facility. We are also the home to one of six Air Force Corneal Refractive Surgery Centers and the only full time Acupuncture Center in the Air Force.
The Andrews Medical Group Airmen have a very unique opportunity to support events and programs in the nation’s capital, to include medical support for Presidential Inaugurations, Air Shows, Congressional visits, Foreign Surgeon General visits, USO visits, Air Force Tattoos, and foreign dignitary visits, just to name a few. Moreover, the medics of the Andrews Medical Group provide support to Senior Leaders across the Air Force, White House, and the Department of Defense. Furthermore, the medics teach Self Aid and Buddy Care techniques to members of the presidential communication staff.
Additionally, the Andrews Medical Group maintains the capability to deploy teams throughout the continental United States and worldwide in response to a full spectrum of contingencies. Deployable teams from the Andrews Medical Group have the ability to provide critical care during aeromedical evacuation missions, en route patient staging, and surgical care in austere field conditions, among other response capabilities.
