Ambulatory Surgery
Malcolm Grow Surgery Center provides pre-operative and post-operative care for all National Capitol Region beneficiaries. We pride ourselves on the care and services that we provide to all branches of the military, their families, and love ones.
Pre-Operative Care (Pre-Op)
Our pre-operative staff assist patients with preparation for a successful surgical intervention. They will ensure that all pre-procedural paperwork, preparation, and interviews are accomplished.
While in pre-op you will be able to discuss your plan of care with your perioperative team. This team consist of your pre-op nurse/medical technician, OR nurse, Anesthesia provider, and the surgeon.
Post-Operative Care (Post Anesthesia Care Unit-PACU)
During your stay, care will be continued by the PACU nurse and medical technician with oversight by the Anesthesia provider. This area allows patients to recover from the anesthesia in a safe and stable environment.
At this time, we ensure that patient’s pain is controlled and they are medically stable. Patients and escorts are educated on medication management, follow-up appointments, how to identify complications and emergency care before being discharged.
